    Driving...

Yesterday was the first day I drove here. Quite nervous at the very beginning and soon it passed on to my peer sitting next to me.....Overall my performance is not bad (in my mind), though took a couple of scary turns, which made my thailand peer scream in the car. Total time half an hour, highest speed 85 km/h.

Today is the second day, I told my thailand peer that I need more practice, though I do not think he really wants to let me drive again...Total time 20 min, highest speed 100 km/h.

Cars here are just so big that I am not aware of the right side of the car coz not used to the size of the car yet.

But I am not gonna drive at night, too dark here, I will probably miss the highway exit. So far I only know the route from my apartment in Norwalk to office in Stamford. Will try to explore more after my driving skills improve....

100km/hr? how is speed limit? here is the rule, 10 miles faster might be ok, no trouble from cop. but more that 10 miles,......hehe, you might get serious punishment. one of my friends used to get 2 tickets on the highway the same day, each cost him 200 bucks...... safe driving and don't let cop get any chance to take money from your pocket:)

    Take care and Good luck!
And the rule here is that the less developed the city is, the more difficult it is to drive at that city. We all know it's tough here in Shanghai. But if you've been to those cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, such as Shaoxing, Suzhou, though the traffic is less intensive....you'll be pissed off by all the cars and passengers! There're no traffic rules in their mind.

If you can drive in BJ/SH, you can drive everywhere.
